Podcast: Diebenkorn

Reflection: PodcastCreating the podcast was a fun experience! The process did get a bit complicated when I had to merge the photos with the audio because it was all about timing, and during this time I realized my sound needed a little more adjusting to flow correctly with the images. It took me longer to start than it took to finish the project, mainly because I am a bit intimidated by technology, so this project at first seemed to be a difficult process. After playing around with the editing programs it became a lot easier and fun!

Reflection: Lesson Plan
I was tasked with making the lesson plan for the group project and main concern I had was coming up with a lesson that would help connect students to their environment. I noticed during my observations that many of the students are very disconnected from what goes on locally, they are more informed about events that occur outside their physically space and it is due partially to how connected they are through their phones and the internet. I chose to make a lesson that would introduce the students to an environmental issue that affects students who live by the coast. I struggled with making the lesson fit within a short amount of time, I feel I needed more time to edit the lesson to possible condense it a bit so It would keep the students engaged. Overall I enjoyed working on this project and I like how we had the opportunity to present it to the class, it provided excellent practice for us to get used to standing in front of a class.
3D Print: Spirit Animal
Manta Ray
Reflection: 3D PrintI found this project to be quite enjoyable, it was a great experience working with the program. It took me a while to be able to navigate the program. Once I figured out how to use the shapes, the next obstancel became figuring out how to join the shapes so the file would print properly. It took me about three hours to finish the project and I was really happy with how it printed. The circle underneath the manta proved to be just the right size to loop the pendant on a string to make the necklace. Overall I found the project to be a great way to learn the basics of 3D printing and modeling, this a project I would teach my students in a multimedia class.
Animation: Las Calaveras |
Reflection: Animation
This project was the toughest one for me, we had to put together much of what we have learned this semester. I had wrote a script and a storyboard about two weeks ago, when I actually started shooting the scenes it took a lot longer than expected. Using all the shots I took for the original story would have made the animation over 3 minutes long, so I had to shorten it and attempt to move the scenes around so it would still make sense. Hopefully I have done just that. After finishing my animation, I gained a good amount of experience with technology in making art, this is a project I would be excited to incorporate in one of my lessons.
